Namecheap is trying to cheat me

I think namecheap.com is trying to rip me off. I moved one domain name from namecheap.com to Enom.com and now namecheap.com is keep sending me renew emails. Maybe I am stuck in their register for domains but that does not matter they do not have the domain on their server anymore and should not ask for money for something like that. If they want to be a serious domain seller they should keep track on the domains.

Here is the email from them

  • Swedish Tax authority demands to see all domain registers

Loopia.se a Swedish domain and Hosting company went out in it last newsletter and told everybody how to avoid to getting scammed by people that have registered their “brand name”. They suggest to pay 10 000 SEK or1500 $ not more, are they for real? Well ok if your company is VOLVO or something then I understand but otherwise just take another name.

What Loopia.se did not tell people in the newsletter was that they given all customer name and social security number to the Swedish Tax authority. The all Seeing Eye already have a spider that search the internet for email and names that can be connected to Swedish people and now they want to see who has a domain name in Sweden.

Way to go Loopia.se to not even take the case to the European court or anything just hand the documents over like a good goblin.

Right now the Swedish Tax authority comparing domain names with incomes declared in the tax and I am sure some people in Sweden are nervous.

Global Edit in Enom helpful tool

If you are using Enom to register your domains then maybe you have missed the global edit option. You will find it under “Domains” and then “Bulk Tools” slash Global Edit.

This handy tool can help you change all your domains in the matter of seconds so you not have to sit and edit every domain by hand. All the domains can be edited as you please or you can pick an “example” domain for Enom to copy from.

The change will take around 1 hour to be fixed and Enom will send you an email when the changes are done.

Domain Name Appraisal Scam - Andrew Shoemaker

My friend have been telling me about this guy that contact him trough SEDO and wanted to buy one of his domains since i handle the domains for him I was interested to hear about it.

    The email went like this

    Hello,

    We are interested in 123pornotube.com

Your name was listed in online auction. What is your price for the name?

Our company is involved in software development/support business.

Now domain invetsing/reselling is just an additional direction of our investment
    strategy.

Looking forward to do business with you.

    Regards,
    Anthony McQueary
    President
    TG Logitech

They emailed back and forward and finally agreed on a price around 12 000 US Dollar. It was not my friend’s value it was him. Mr Anthony always came back to that he wanted my friend to get the domain properly valued and he would pay what ever price came up.

I thought that was very strange because Anthony was the one telling the price not my friend. He also showed him a forum posting here

    http://domaintalk.ourplace.com/Archive/972846.htm

    With this nice email

Sorry for the delay. Members of family was celebrating newborn child of my
    sister.

Now let’s talk about the deal.

    12,000 USD. Ok.

Do you sell domain with a web site or just name?

If just name it’s ok. Web site is not necessary.

Have you had your domains appraised already? Can you show me your valuation
certificates? As fas I know it’s a common practice to show appraisal of
domain name (even without traffic and web site) before doing business.

Without appraisal I risk to overpay. In other words I won’t be able to make
a profit on reselling this name. It’s very important for you and me to know
the current market value of your domains.

Of course, we must be sure that you are engaging an appraisal company with
REAL manual service. I heard many appraisal companies often made inaccurate
auto-generated appraisals. I will only accept appraisals from independent
sources I trust. To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable
    Appraisal companies in a forumhttp://domaintalk.ourplace.com/Archive/972846.htm

    Just check this posting.

If the appraisal comes higher you can adjust your asking price accordingly.
I also hope you can give me 10% - 15% discount of the appraised value.

After I get an appraisal from you we’ll continue our negotiations.

How do you prefer to get paid: www.escrow.com, www.PayPal.com check or
    wire?

Hope we can come to an agreement fast.

    Looking forward to your reply.

My friend then suggested SEDO on my recommendations and when the mystery did not answer he found the answer on the Paul Enderson blog.

The guy is a scam and he does this to send traffic to his domain appraisal company and if he succeed that will probably give him a 1000 $ or something.
