Gave up Adword for 2 month for Yahoo Directory

I have been trying Adword now for 2 years with this Thai Florist site. I can tell you right away it has not been converting at all as I wanted it to.

I wasted some money on content network and now the last month the only site I got is Albanian and Arab site. I ask for only English sites but that’s what I got, off course I been requesting refund but it takes time.

Yahoo Directory have been on my mind now for some times and I will reach a totally different group of people then usual once from Adword. Since my market is pretty small (Western men ordering flowers to girls in Thailand) I think I got most of them already in my email list.

I spent $6 a day on Adword that’s 50 days to $ 299 that the Yahoo Directory charges me.

Let’s see in 2 month if I got any customer from Yahoo since Google Adword has not given me squat for that long as well.

I had a problem with Open ads that i installed the new version 2.4. The ads would not show and I was really trying to figure out what was wrong. I am normally using the local code for the ads but after taking to Servage, my hosting company about the problem they suggest that I use JAVA instead to show the ads.

Now the Open Ads is working 100 % and you can see an example on this free dating site.

Before you make a script make sure that your hosting will accept the coding your webmaster will do. Different webmaster do different things and some of the things some webmasters do will only work on for example dedicated servers and not shared once. The shared servers have more security and do not want to do for example YouTube script because they suck up a lot of CPU power. Since you all sharing the same CPU it would not be fare to the other people on the shared server. Some scripts are coded and some shared servers like Host Gator does not accept that they say it is insecure. So next time you want to create a script or buy one coordinate with your server and webmaster or script seller it will be worth the extra time.

1. Stops everyone from cheating you but can scare away serious programmers if you do not have any reputations points on Script Lance.

2. If everything is done on your server you have total control but be sure he will not use it to spam or hack into your other system, close down emails and mail from script if you can.

3. This is off course up to you but I prefer this way. Any serious webmaster can find a way to get a pay pal account nowadays.

4. This can make you loose out on the new people but if you do not waste time stick with this.

5. The programmers are notorious to take to much work but keep it clear that you will cancel even if he half way into the work.

6. You need to communicate quick and easy sometimes it is better the email.

7. Some webmaster just give you a long list of website the have done and do not even read what you said. They give you a price of 5000 $ so you not use them

In Script Lance there is not much point doing the project private since you only get a few programmers but if it is a lot of money and you need some serius people then this is for you.

I tried the hide project bids one time but it did not work very well I did not get the work cheaper so just skip that one.

To do the project featured can be good in some cases specially if you want more bids but otherwise you can skip it. I got lots more bids when I did it.

I take it back what is said about Windows Vista and Hotmail or Live as they call it now. Do not follow my instruction to get Live in to the new Mail Vista program. Just go direct to Gmail and get a free email from there and you can get your emails in to Vista with no problem. I do not understand why Vista do not let you import Live emails when they allow Gmail. Well that’s is not my problem but you know why Google is taking over the world and not Bill.

I bought a new computer for my mother and it came with the new Vista. Since I wanted to make it easy for her to check her email I thought ok I create a hotmail account for her. But that was stupid because they don’t allow hotmail accounts anymore. I mean what is that why does Windows Vista take hotmail accounts anymore? Can some one tell me the reason I would be very happy. I found a website and a small program that can go around that and now you can use Vista with Hotmail.

What can you do if the flash movie or application does not work? Make sure you have the latest version of flash on your computer. You can go to the Adobe website for download flash free.
If that does not help then you should close all applications that you are running and use the uninstaller for flash player. It will take away all flash applications you have on your computer and then you can install a new one.

After you finished download the new flash plug in and if asked restart your computer.

If you have a website and you expect huge traffic coming your way then you should maybe have a special page just for that news event. Unlucky for them they had not prepared as well The Nation. When the Bangkok Post crashed The Nation website still have their site going because they lead away the traffic from the first page to a special site. You must also check your bandwidth and how many hits your database can take in situation like this. If you have a “weak” database then upload the news in Plain Html it will take much power from your server. If readers have to refresh every 5 min then your database will make the server crash for sure.

Some people I know have gone from 1000 page view a day to 200 000 a day when sending a Press Release. Make sure your site is ready for that kind of traffic before you send out the Press Release. If the press finds you then you can be sure the spammers will find you as well. Check your website so that you protected your site from spam.

People are selling ebooks, images, icons and fonts online like never before sometimes with resell rights but can you really know that you can sell them or even use them. You need some kind of bill from the person you buying from and also you will need a to check his pay pal account how many “points” the seller has. If he has a new pay pal account then maybe you should think twice before buying. You can also search the internet for the similar package and in many time you find the same name in a warez site. If that is the case report the seller to Pay Pal. If the he is selling an ebook then there is always a link to someone that made the the ebook and you can ask them if this book really can be sold or resold for that price. If not ask for the money back and report him. Many people download fonts from online sites and then resell them as their own but they can not do that. Every font is copyrighted and you should be very careful if you are planning to resell them
