Google have partnered with the NTT DoCoMo big time player in the Japanese cell phone market. They need a big sword in to cut the market of Yahoo that already have ADSL and internet service in Japan.

Google hopes that the NTT DoCoMo will get the new contract from Apple on the iPone for Japan but Softbank is also fighting for it with Yahoo.

Softbank have recently launched an aggressive campaign and hired lots of foreign actors like this commercial with Cameron Diaz.

Gave up Adword for 2 month for Yahoo Directory

I have been trying Adword now for 2 years with this Thai Florist site. I can tell you right away it has not been converting at all as I wanted it to.

I wasted some money on content network and now the last month the only site I got is Albanian and Arab site. I ask for only English sites but that’s what I got, off course I been requesting refund but it takes time.

Yahoo Directory have been on my mind now for some times and I will reach a totally different group of people then usual once from Adword. Since my market is pretty small (Western men ordering flowers to girls in Thailand) I think I got most of them already in my email list.

I spent $6 a day on Adword that’s 50 days to $ 299 that the Yahoo Directory charges me.

Let’s see in 2 month if I got any customer from Yahoo since Google Adword has not given me squat for that long as well.

Mash is the new answer from Yahoo it’s a social network like Facebook and Myspace. Since Microsoft bought a share of Facebook and Google bought a share of Myspace then Yahoo had to do something to keep up.
The pioneers of search and community have a tuff struggle ahead of them.

Mash is a mix of all different kinds of social networks and a mix of wikipedia as well, you can go in and change some other persons profile but I you can stop and change back if you want to. I think that Idea is dam silly its just going to be people going to hijack peoples profiles that are not used that much and enter their own links.

Yahoo Search Marketing are doing a upgrade and hope they will come closer to what Google Adsense and Google Adword have done for advertising on the internet.

Yahoo Search Marketing has also allowed customer to use Pay Pal to recharge their account something that Google Adword have refused to do.

We gave Yahoo Search Marketing a very bad review before we will take a look in the new version if there is any change.

After Yahoo told me why my English keyword did not work and they never going to show in Sweden I asked them to change to US.

The answer I got was stunning “you have to open an account in every country”.

They must be mad, did they think I will deposit $50 for all countries in the world and have the same amount of accounts to handle it. I would have to have extra staff for each country and I would go mad trying to control it.

I told them I want my 50 $ back and I want to finish my account and off course they did not want to do that. I just told them its ok I do a chargeback on VISA and you have to pay anyway its up to you. 3 weeks later they paid but I still get a account balance every money by mail even if I told them to stop.

If they do not shape from this rules they will be number 2 or 3 always after Google Adword they are not even close.

The problem did not stop just because they finally gave me the extra 50 $ that they have promised me in the promotion email.

I created my ads and waited to get some traffic but all I got was one or two clicks and an email from their customer service.

Its said something like because I am not have anybody clicking on my ads we are going to charge you $10?
What the hell they charge you because they do not manage to get me any traffic?
Apparently this was their policy so I better get going. I changed my keywords to a minimum of $1 dollar per click and thought this might do it. But there was no traffic and after a few days they charge me $10 because Yahoo could not produce any traffic.

I sent them an email and asked them how they could do this and apperntly my keywords was in English and my traffic only came from Sweden?
The email I got was in English I guess it was sent from USA but my yahoo account was some how turned into Swedish. Even if my credit card is Swedish I do not have any ads for Sweden and they never asked me about this. So yes off course that’s why I do not get any traffic from my English keywords.

I received an email in my yahoo box as everyone does all the time. “To drive customer to your website”

It said in the email that I will get a free 50 $ if I sign up so I click on the link and thought that an advanced company as Yahoo would build in the promotion in the email link.
There was no other place to put the promotion code anyway so I thought ok I have 100 $ now. But no when my account was approved one day later there was only 50 $ in the account. I sent them several emails and told them that I am not going to use this service anymore if they do not give me the extra 50 $. The only way I could make them give in was when I told them I would make a chargeback on my credit card and then suddenly they gave me an extra 50 $.
